RAW:Portland Translations

Portland friends! I was selected to take part in RAW: Translations, a one-night event of art, dance, live music, fashion, and cocktails, celebrating the best in local Portland artists.  Thursday, 17 April at the Bossanova Ballroom.  I’ve got free tickets for whoever wants to come!  Just let me know - and spread the word!

Just wait and see…

People frequently believe the creative life is grounded in fantasy. The more difficult truth is that creativity is grounded in reality, in the particular, the focused, the well observed or specifically imagined…art lies in the moment of encounter: we meet our truth and we meet ourselves; we meet ourselves and we meet our self-expression. We become original because we become something specific: an origin from which work flows.
Some people believe in the power of minerals, ore, and gemstones: vigor, health, wealth, happiness, inspiration, calm of mind, love, creativity.  I think that’s great because we all need to believe in something.  Me?  I believe in the power of art and of ourselves.  We have these things inside us already.  Whatever brings them out of you is your muse.  Use it.

Astro Gallery lies on famed 5th Avenue in the heart of Midtown in New York City, two blocks from the beautiful public library and Bryant Park, and it’s the newest place to find our work.   I’m very excited.
